The Universe as we know it now began as a tremendously hot, tiny, and dense singularity that expanded some 13.8 billion years ago. Since then, it hasn't stopped expanding, but what if it did? We previously believed the Universe to be unchanging before Edwin Hubble's observation of the expansion of the universe in the 1920s.
