MEET MOBY THE MARGAY! This beautiful wildcat came into our care after being hit by a car in Paquera, over 80 miles away from our center in Costa Rica. She was lucky to escape with her life! As you can hear on the video, she’s rather grumpy, but can you really blame her?! Margay’s in Costa Rica are classified as “Threatened“ by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The main threat to their survival is the loss of their habitat due to deforestation and fragmentation, as well as poaching for their fur. As a result of habitat loss, many animals are being forced closer to built-up areas, where they are at risk of conflict with humans. Margays rarely come into our care, and we were relieved that she did not sustain any life-threatening injuries. After three days of specialist veterinary treatment and close supervision, Moby was ready to return home to the wild! Want to see her release video? Subscribe to us if you haven't already f
