These photos and recordings were taken during the Russian-Swedish-Danish Spoon-billed Sandpiper Expedition to Chukotka in the summer of 2010. From June 22nd to July 8th, we stayed in the small village of Meynypil’gyno in the remote part of southern Chukotka. Today, this area has the highest breeding density in the world of the critically endangered Spoon-billed Sandpiper, with approximately less than 15 breeding pairs in the summer of 2010.
