Copping A Beating Over Shallow Reef - Padang Padang - August 30th, 2022

After filming Uluwatu for most of the afternoon on August 30th, we headed to Padang Padang for the last couple of hours of light. Due to the Southerly direction of the swell, It wasn’t picking up quite the same amount as Ulus but was still solid out there. Some amazing barrel rides went down, but a few nasty beating too, like the first clip. If you’ve ever surfed out there you know how shallow it can be near the inside bowl, and especially on a very low tide.
