Full titles read: “A Boon for Birmingham - Lord & Lady Mayoress open block of Municipal Washhouses... the best in the Country.“ Birmingham, West Midlands. M/S of a small group of people gathered around the Lord and Lady Mayoress at the entrance to a building; the Mayor takes off his top hat and pulls a small black curtain from the wall to reveal a plaque. C/U of the plaque reads “This Building Was Opened By The Lord Mayor of Birmingham (Alderman AH James CBE JP) on Wednesday January 18th 1928“ and lists members of the Baths Committee. The group go into the Wash-houses; we see them standing before what looks like some large basins.
