The series is now called “cybergloom memes“ because they are edgy memes using videos from computer science. I thought, what if I try to make an animation meme without drawing anything... but with the same kind of disquiet, slightly edgy, but also cute style? And featuring a meme from SCIENCE? Last time, it was “What is logical?“ using Stanford Bunny videos. This time it is “Body“ using robotics videos. If computer graphics is the metaphor for dissociation, then robotics is the metaphor for body dysphoria. Breaking bodies happens everyday. and struggling with “sim to real“ is a precise analog of body dysphoria. Sim to real is when you train a robot controller AI in a simulation, then use it on a real robot. Because the simulation is not real, the AI usually gets slightly confused and does something off and stumble around as if it has gotten into a body it doesn't quite want.
