SEE THIS PDF: OZARK, Mo. (KY3) - Neighbors in Christian County are up in arms over a proposal to build a large battery storage facility near Ozark. They say only a handful of households were even told about it ahead of time. The project has been proposed by Black Mountain Energy Storage and if approved it would sit behind the substation off Old Prospect Road and Elk Valley. The facility would store lithium ion batteries and the people living nearby told KY3 they’re upset not only with the potential environmental impacts but they say they barely got any notice. “If it is safe, that’s great, but prove it to us,” said area HOA president Jack Peavey.
