Amna Mawaz Khan is a Bharat Natyam (classical dance style) dancer, who started learning at the age of 11 but gradually she was the only one left in her training class. Learning and mastering the dance form did not suffice, she with the passage of time also learnt the power of this medium and wanted to use in the best way. Amna is a political activist too, she thrives to bridge the gap between elite and commoners. During her campaigns, she uses the medium of dance to highlight the issues. She thinks that art, music, and dance are imperative for good change in society. She's a feminist and uses her dance to highlight the plight of women especially working class women in Pakistan. Amna's work has created a space for the alternative, she has successfully lined art and societal issues to fight stereotypes.
