Here are five bodybuilding exercises taught in the Navajo Diné language. The exercise content was provided by Professional Exercise Trainer Eric Guilmette. The content was translated into Navajo by Frank Morgan, the author of Diné Terminology for Diabetes Mellitus: A Guide to Standardized Diné Translations and Interpretations, First Edition. This is considered the gold standard dictionary for Diabetes Terminology in the Navajo language. Morgan is also the author of Navajo Terminology for Foods and Nutrients: Kindness, Caring, and Blessings through our Food. He also worked at Diné College on the development of Diné Educational Philosophy. *If you'd like to see the transcript in Navajo, use the captions feature. Use your YouTube settings to change the language selection from English to the Navajo language to see the captions in Navajo.* You can see more of Eric Guilmette's videos at his personal channel located at the channel @etfitnesscoach . Discussing exercise is difficult & requires advanced Navajo language use to describe this. I thank Eric Guilmette for sharing his exercise knowledge & Frank Morgan for his excellent translation into Navajo! 0:12 Introduction by Eric Guilmette, Fitness Coach Guilmette introduces the video by introducing himself as a fitness trainer, model, & actor. Followng his introduction, Guilmette instructs how to properly execute his top 5 weight-lifting exercises: 2:13 Push-Ups (K’ídíz’áago Dah Jishdloozhgo Hagaan Bee Dego Hats’íís Kóníjiil’i̜i̜hígíí) 3:52 Pull-Ups (Dego Dah Ná’ázhdiiltééh) 5:58 Sit-Ups (Tsédeigo Jiztí̜í̜dé̜é̜’ Názhnídaahígíí) 8:41 Squats (Jizí̜í̜dóó Dah Jishjí̜í̜d Áníjiil’i̜i̜hígíí) 11:29 Deadlifts (Nidaazgo Nízh’diilééh Dóó Bił Níjiidzi̜i̜hígíí) 14:00 Conclusion. I agree with Eric Guilmette's concluding message in that I hope you all enjoy this video. I hope that not only you became familiar with exercise terms in Navajo but you also learned how to execute these exercises in a healthy way that can help you live more healthier lives.
