An ambitious, enthusiastic young geologist is entangled in bureaucratic red tape when he tries to drill for oil. Frustrated with the situation, he torches an abandoned mill, ignores his girlfriend, and fights with his friends who do not share his exuberance about the project. The feature premiered at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival A young, impetuous geologist is convinced he will find needed oil in a hole he is drilling. But as the time goes by there is an interference from the home office and he runs into problems with bureaucrats. He realizes that he is just doing his work and that others do not share his zeal. He meets an older man, more resigned, who helps him in an unofficial drilling which strikes oil.
