Czech out this 1/72 scale display base for my latest MiG-21 model build. I turn a piece of foam and some plaster into a realistic tarmac display detailing all the steps along the way. I also made a DIY static grass applicator from a kit I purchased for an all-in price of $ cheaper than most applicators on the market. This is modelled after Čáslav air base in the Czech Republic to be paired with an Eduard MiG 21-MFN plane. I used Google satellite images to measure and scale the concrete slabs appropriately for 1/72 as well as the photos at the link below to model the grassy area and drainage ditch. I took some artistic liberty with the exact placement on the yellow line. Its a simple base, but one that can be build quickly and relatively inexpensively. Inspiration Photos:
