This 1992 series was inspired by several Goofy cartoons from the 50s that portrayed him as a single father. Goofy moves back to his home town with son Max; their next-door neighbor is a used-car salesman with a family of his own. The show (65 episodes, a standard run for animated series) aired on Disney channel and proved successful in syndication; 13 more episodes ran on ABC. Several movies followed and the premise of this show influenced later depictions of Goofy for years. Voice artists included Dana Hill, Nancy Cartwright, and David Doyle. The lively theme song, by Randy Peterson, Kevin Quinn, and Robert Irving, is performed by Phil Perry.
