Police Authorities will use an auto gyro, hovering at 2,000 feet for the first time, here or anywhere on Derby Day.“ Croydon, Greater London. Two gentlemen from Scotland Yard, Police Headquarters (one called Mr Chamberlin) are seated in an auto gyro (an early form of winged Helicopter) on the airfield at Croydon. They are going to be monitoring traffic conditions on Derby Day and today are going up to test the radio communications work. Shot of police ground van which takes the radio message from the Autogyro. Tilt up the radio aerial. L/S of the auto gyro flying overhead. Men in police van talk to men in aircraft on radio.
