A PDF reference sheet for this video is available to download here - Video Highlights: 0:00 - Playing Demonstration - Soloing with Am Pentatonic in 3 Different Keys Including Chord Vamp and Bass Pedal 4:18 - Introduction 6:30 - Guitar Tutorial 14:49 - Closing Thoughts 16:30 - Ending Improvisation In this video I am playing a Jimmy Foster Custom 7-String Tele-style solid body guitar (number 232) with a Kent Armstrong humbucking pickup in the neck position through a Custom Billm Modified Fender Blues Junior in a custom designed cherry wood cabinet with a Jensen Special Design C15N speaker. I'm using D'Addario NYXL Nickel Wound Strings 09-42, the 7th string is a Rotosound TBL065 Bass Black Nylon tuned to B (this is a G string for bass), 10ft Pig Hog “Western Plaid“ right angle cable and a Vintage Belden Custom Instruments braided cable with large (solid) brass ends to connect to the amp. The guitar amp was recorded with a Stereo Matched Pair of Royer R-10 Ribbon Microphones placed with the bottom of the mic capsule even with the top of the speaker cabinet about 8 inches away. Guitar Pedal: ~EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master V2 Delay and Reverb Pedal The voice was recorded with a Heil PR-40 microphone. I'm using a RØDE PSA1 Broadcast Microphone Boom Arm and a pair of Sennheiser HD 58X Open Back Professional Jubilee Headphones for monitoring. The percussion track is the DrumJam app (Latin Indian 04-mm80). Everything is running into an Apogee Element 88 and iMac running Logic Pro X. Mackie HR824 Studio Monitors were used for mixing. Waves Audio Plugins - PuigChild 660 & 670 Compressor Logic Pro X Plugins - Channel EQ, ChromaVerb(Guitar Chamber), Loudness Meter, Adaptive Limiter, Level Meter. The video was shot with an iPhone 13. Lighting is a PBL VL-1000 Halogen Light with a VL-1000 SOFTBOX (80cm x 80cm) at the 1000 watt setting and an additional halogen floor lamp at the 300 watt setting.
