—— This stretch is primarily for the pec minor. The pec minor attaches from the coracoid process of the scapula down to ribs 3-5. It cannot be stretched by simply opening up your arm like a normal pec stretch because it doesn’t attach to your arm!! . Due to its rib attachment and angle of pull from the scapula, it is an integral player in the anteriorly tilted scapulae and rounded shoulders posture. It can also play a role in a general inability and control scapular movement as well as a chronically tight neck. The pec minor is the real deal. There’s even a syndrome named after it. . I like to teach this stretch horizontally, as opposed to the vertical version picture above. Neither are right or wrong, but I find this the easiest to set up and feel. . 🔊 Listen to my cues here⤵️ .
