Though it's not ENTIRELY about Rhaenyra, I put too much of Daemon in it lol but the point of the edit is still to show just how Rhaenyra just... struggle with basically everything. How, despite the fact that she probably had more freedom than many women around her, she was still sold in a marriage that she didn't really wanted, pushed into it. But I also want to show her as how she is, like, the part with “her sneer will eat you alive“ try there to show the lack of power balance between Rhaenyra's position and Criston's one and how that influenced their relationship. In many ways, though I know many don't necessarily see it that way, Rhaenyra abused her position as a princess to Criston. Even if it doesn't necessarily justify everything he has become and what he does, it certainly had an impact on him. Daemon's position in Rhaenyra's life is also important to me in this video because I'm trying to show here how much he can be her freedom as much as her prison. “The buyer always bring her back“ with the moment when he chokes her, years after their marriage, seeks to imply that even if she chose Daemon for her husband, this choice can fall back in her face and Daemon can be like any other man, any other “buyers“ who might have wanted to “buy“ her. Of course, in spite of that, in the chorus, I try to show how Rhaenyra decided to take what she wanted in life, because otherwise, in the end, life probably wouldn't have offered her much, even as a princess, and as she always wanted Daemon, he figures heavily in these passages. For the blood and tradition part, I hope the video speaks for itself, we play on prophecy, Targaryen blood and how it influences Rhaenyra's “fire“ behavior. Towards the end of the video, I also wanted to include her relationship with Alicent, since this relationship had a big impact on her life. And the part “and they said that boys were boys but they were wrong“ I decided to completely interpret this part in my own way - since I'm not sure I understood it 100% in the song anyway - and to say here that the people would never have wanted anything other than a man for king, which is not entirely wrong, but which is not entirely true either since Rhaenyra still had a lot of support and that a lot who agreed to submit to her rule, hence the Dance of the Dragons. I'm happy with the result of that edit anyway, and well, we are from done for that huge series of mine lol though some of my futur edits will also be on other characters of the show (though we stay mainly on my ship, they are my obsession.)
