Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Op. 13, commonly known as Sonata Pathétique, was written in 1798 when the composer was 27 years old. Musicologists debate whether or not the Pathétique may have been inspired by Mozart's piano sonata K. 457, which has a similar theme in the spacious second movement. I recently recorded Billy Joel's “This Night“ for which he declared Beethoven as a co-composer. My version is in C and - as normal with my ukulele arrangements - takes liberal stance to the original music - especially the use of octave changes to encompass just 12 frets - a more complex and more accurate version exists but that is more difficult to play. Music&tab from colinrtribe@ - and that will show the complete notation part that I omitted from this version to bring out the melody.
