Monument to the Komsomol defenders of Stalingrad and its inappropriate condition.

The monument to the Komsomol defenders of Stalingrad was opened on February 2, 1973 in honor of the 30th anniversary of the victory of Soviet troops in the great battle on the Volga. It is located in the Central District of Volgograd in the boulevard part of Lenin Avenue - near the intersection with Komsomolskaya Street. On a low pedestal, the authors sculptor A.E. Krivolapov and architect V.P. Kalinichenko installed three sculptures. Young fighters grieve for the deceased comrade, whose helmet lies on the ground. Unfortunately, in 2021, the monument is in a depressing state - the concrete pedestal is collapsing, its granite cladding has partially fallen off and lost, and the sculptures of the Komsomol members themselves require restoration. The Volgograd authorities promise to carry out repairs and restoration of the monument by the end of 2022.
