In this trainingsession you can see me and Nevada working on our liberty dressage skills. The last weeks I start to feel more confidence in Nevada, we closed the gaps in our connection and communication more and more. This way of training ask a lot of coordination and self carriage of the horse. It is amazing how they keep their balance on four legs in all those difficult movements! That’s why it is my passion to guide my pony’s, horses and students with an easy to learn basic foundation first.(Our homestudy Human & Horse training) I love to help you preparing your horse not only mentally but also physically to get in shape and refine the communication. Next to the mind also the body and legs need time to use the muscles and joints in different movements the same as with us, they have naturel skewness and natural habits to 😉 So preparing is key 😊 Our horses also need to ‘feel’ that we understand them when they face challenges, so that we can lift them up and let them feel what the work can do for them when they out on the field. Nevada is an amazing American Appaloosa cross stallion, his strength zone is his calm character and willing to please. When he was 8 years old he had a small accident he fell down into a stable and was stuck with his left hindleg for a few minutes and he tore a muscle in his right withers. Fortunately he recovered well but I can feel sometimes he has some difficulties with complicated movements. His challenge for the dressage work is his croup, it is a little higher than his withers. He has learned how to place and bend it, but it is not his naturel strength, so I have to allow him to shift his bodyweight no and then. And guide him in towards a better posture. When he is completely in roundness, I can see him collect better and with more flow and he can show more harmony ''when all dots come together ''. And every step in that direction... I will stop and praise him! By nature he is energy efficient in his gaits, but thanks to the dressage movements he can really show off some STAR power now and then 😉 My Noriker Braveheart is the opposite, he is a hot horse with quick leg movements. And I love them just the way they are. With Guasha therapy and stretching I help them relax and overcome small body posture challenges and refine their bodyshape. You can learn this to!
