Full title reads: “Palestine. The Locust Battle. Government use trenches, pits, flame throwers & small army of soldiers, against invasion of plague of locusts (a mile wide & 15 miles long) to save cotton and orange crops.“ Palestine. CU of locusts on the ground. Local people ploughing and riding horses. CU of locusts in small pit. Men climb into pit of locusts and jump up and down in an attempt to kill the insects. Men use flame throwers to burn off locusts on scrubby hillside. (Some of this looks like rushes). More shots of the pits full of locusts and of the men tramping them down.
