This one really needs to be watched in HD. It looks like crap at 360p. What is this? It is a homework assignment for my Vector Animation I class. We had to take a live action video of our choice, rotoscope it and make the video different from the original. It's my first ever attempt. I should have traced more outside of the cat since the original video peeks through at certain spots, but oh well! What is rotoscoping? The tracing of live action footage. The music video for Take on Me is a good example that I love. Is that your cat? It is a kitten that lived at my dad's farm. I think this was the only time I saw that cat before it was given away. Good thing I got a bunch of cute videos! The cat was black and white in real life. How did you make this? What program did you use? I used the program Toon Boom Animate Pro. I imported the video and used a tablet to trace every frame. I actually traced on twos, meaning I only did every second frame, and held each of those frames for two frames. That way it cuts my work in half. What are the sock monster things? The blue one on the bottom was originally my foot. The yellow one was a copy/paste of the blue one. It looks like the cat is looking at it at the end, but really nothing was there. Can you do a tutorial on how to do this? Non! Why doesn't the kitteh have whiskers? I decided not to draw them because it probably would have looked jittery. What program are you taking in school? I'm taking the Animation Art & Design program at the Art Institute of Vancouver. How long did it take you to do this? It took me 3 classes (4 hours each), plus I worked on it a bit at home. Will you show any of your other homework assignments? I mostly show them on Tumblr I haven't shown much lately, but I'm going to try to show more. ------------------------------------------------- SHOP: ------------------------------------------------- Vlog Channel: Art Instagram: Personal Instagram: DA: Tumblr: Twitter: Facebook: Twitch:
