I DON'T WANT TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE~ Horace Heidt & His Musical Knights w/ Larry Cotton and Donna & Her Don Juans ~ July 24, 1941- Columbia Records. Horace Heidt featured several vocal groups with his orchestra, one being The Four King Sisters and another, Donna & Her Don Juans. “Donna“ was actually , Donna Wood, the sister of another “Song Bird“, named Gloria Wood , who found her fame singing with Kay Kyser & his Orchestra . Sadly, Donna died of a heart ailment on April 8, 1947 at just 29 years old and with her passing, the group known as Donna & Her Don Juans , faded into history. I could find no pictures of singer, Larry Cotton, but he is the featured vocalist on this recording. The Don Juans consisted of George Jackson, Jimmy O'Brien, & Eddie James. Other group members included: Art Carney ,Gordon McCrae, & Charlie Goodman. I DON'T WANT TO SET THE WORLD ON FIRE was, according to the sheet music, first introduced by Tommy Tuc
