This is a film about the 1960 East African Safari Rally. In this gruelling 3,200 mile event, only 25 of the 84 participants made it to the finish line. Whilst Bill Fritschy was the individual winner in a Mercedes-Benz 219, Ford won the manufacturers' trophy with a mixture of Anglias and Zephyrs in action. Alarmingly, we are shown footage of an out of control rally car as it “hits the cameraman at 100 miles an hour“. There is no other mention of the incident so we hope that he emerged unscathed!
