Owning all of RJD's work from Rainbow, Sabbath and Dio. Lock Up The Wolves have emerged as my most played album of his catalog. Maybe of about 500 albums/tapes/downloads/CD's that own too. Rowan Robertson for me is a monster guitarist. If Tony Iommi, Bruce Kulick and Uli Roth had a skill mixer machine. Rowan would be the product. His solo's are a complete song itself. The beginning is attention grabbing , the middle is like a tsunami swelling and the ending is a national disaster exploding and running you over knocking you out. The songwriting here is A plus. RJD is scary and heavy and evil and magical. The riffs are doom royalty level and modern and bluesy at the same time. That is a very difficult thing to achieve. The result is metal perfection. The title song is so good that 8 minutes sounded like 2 minutes . In fact, most of the songs are 6 minutes, but never a time it felt dragging. Every song is like a momentous trip to the heavy metal dark street and you will not notice that you have already listened to the whole album and wanting to repeat it again. I can talk about thia album for hours. Definitely my top 10 most favorite album of all time. Hope you like my playlist.
