High air pressure is dominating much of Australia this week from the south but the southern placement encourages showers across Australia, especially the eastern and western sides with heavier and more set-in downpours for parts of south-eastern Queensland in particular. Tasmania has more windy weather for a time but it won't linger for too long with high-pressure tracking over the top there this week. There isn't a lot of rain for Victoria this week - or South Australia - however showers do start to form in the Northern Territory and there are also widespread heavy showers across much of Western Australia's interior (although may miss a number of the centres). We have your Big Picture forecast for Australia right through until Sunday.
