What is the US response to Americans killed in Palestine

A Turkish-American peace activist was shot in the head by Israeli forces in the occupied West Bank on Friday. She was not the first American citizen to be killed by Israeli soldiers in occupied Palestine. Several others, most famously activist Rachel Corrie and journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, were also killed and no legal action has been taken against the soldiers responsible. The US government says it will bring justice to those who harm its citizens abroad. Yet, a history of American citizens killed by Israel in Palestine suggests this may not be the case.
