Lhomme et la mer: music by Francesco Buccino, text by Charles Baudelaire

VERDI DUO is a duet of professional, glittering and established musicians: the brilliant soprano OLGA PYATNITSKIKH and the virtuoso organist, as well as pianist and composer FRANCESCO BUCCINO. The VERDI DUO was first conceived for the ambitious project to present opera arias accompanied by that manifold ’wind orchestra’ which is the organ. Now, the repertoire of the musicians Olga Pyatnitskikh and Francesco Buccino is rich of solo piano and organ music from the opera, soprano opera arias, chamber music, folk songs, contemporary music, new music expressly composed for the VERDI DUO by nowadays composers, and Francesco Buccino’s compositions specifically written for the Olga’s colourful voice, which perfectly matches the organ sounds, from the delicate tones to the majestic ones. There is no literature for soprano and organ on texts that are not religious. The VERDI DUO project is filling this lack, composing and performing soprano/organ music on no-religious texts by H.
