Mariinsky ballet class in memory of Sergei Vikharev

Today is the International Dance Day, celebrated on this day in honor of Jean-Georges Noverre, a French dancer, choreographer and dance theorist. We invite us to a ballet class - a set of morning exercises that are traditionally done by ballet dancers all over the world. This lesson was recorded on the birthday of another outstanding ballet teacher and choreographer, Sergei Vikharev, who had done so much to preserve the heritage of classical ballet in Russia and abroad. A class in honor of Mr Vikharev, based on his teaching materials, is taught by the prima ballerina of the Mariinsky TheaterVictoria Tereshkina. At the ballet barre you can see the stars of the Mariinsky Theater and aspiring young dancers: Kimin Kim, Timur Askerov, Andrey Ermakov, Alexander Sergeev, Philip Stepin, Alina Somova, Anastasia Matvienko, Ekaterina Osmolkina, Maria Shirinkina, Maria Ilyushkina and others.
