Five-year-old Mohammed Naeem al-Najar died of malnutrition today at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza. At the same hospital, Leila Juneid, born during the war in Gaza, was admitted on Wednesday and placed in the ICU for severe malnutrition. “They're struggling because they're exhausted, they've run out of the resources they need, they've asked for those resources, but that aid is prevented from coming in. I don't know if you've left Rafah or come back in. There are hundreds if not thousands of aid trucks that are stopped there with the sort of aid that we need at this hospital that can't get in.“ Tanya Haj-Hassan, a Paediatric intensive care doctor visiting Kamal Adwan Hospital from Jordan, told Al Jazeera. Humanitarian organisations, including the UN, have said Israel is preventing access to aid by closing border crossings and imposing severe restrictions. Al Jazeera’s Victoria Gatenby reports.
