First, we continue to look at the devastation caused by the Chicxulub impact, including thermal pulses from above, a global forest collapse, the frozen darkness of years-long impact winter, and the greenhouse summer afterwards. Then we examine the differential fates of different kinds of organisms at the time, to see if we can tease out which of the factors might have been most important in their extinction or survival. We take a deeper dive into looking at the history of dinosaurs up to the K/Pg boundary, and explore the pre-extinction changes in their communities.
