“Sunday, 14 May The Giro presents the second of three individual time trials just before the second rest day. Over 35 kilometres, the riders ride from Savignano sul Rubicone to Cesena on flat roads without too many bends. On stage 9 the riders complete the longest, but also flattest of the three time trials of the Tour of Italy. The course is 100% tailored to the specialists who are persevering on the big chainring. Technical luggage is not really needed as there are hardly any curves. There are three split times - after 13.0, after 23.1 and after 29.0 kilometres. In total, there are over 73 kilometres of time trials in this Giro. All of them are individual time trials, something we haven't seen in a Grand Tour for a long time. That's what persuaded Remco Evenepoel to opt for the Giro and postpone his Tour de France debut until 2024. The Giro is teeming with strong time trialists anyway, with Olympic champion Primoz Roglic and former world champions Rohan Dennis and Filippo Ganna also competing. After the impressions of the first stage, however, it can be assumed that no one can hold a candle to Remco Evenepoel.“ ( & Routes 'n' Maps 'n' Flags) Route data: Creating cycling stage animations requires a lot of work and computing power.
