This video shows an awesome Story of Nepal Railways Janakpur–Jainagar Railway, a 2 ft 6 in (762 mm) narrow gauge railway was built by the British in 1937, during the Rana period. This 45 km track was built to carry timber from the heavily forested areas of Janakpur in the Kingdom of Nepal to Jainagar in British India.. Later this train was handed over to Nepal Railways and it became an important rail route between India and Nepal.. till 1994, steam engine used to pull the train on this route.. In 1994, the then prime minister P V Narasimha Rao gifted six narrow gauge trains and five diesel engines to Nepal. All the rakes—basically trains with eight coaches each—and engines were sourced from the then South Eastern Railway's Nagpur division. six drivers went from the city to kick off the runs and give training to railway staffers in Nepal..
