If you want to help keep the caffeine flowing The Battle of Hue (January 31st - March 2nd 1968), also called the Siege of Hue, was a major military engagement in the Tet Offensive launched by North Vietnam and the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. After initially losing control of most of Hue and its surroundings, the combined South Vietnamese and American forces gradually recaptured the city over one month of intense fighting. M48 A-22 Serial #202016 assigned to Alpha Company, 1st Marine Tank Battalion was involved in the heavy fighting for control of the city starting from February 11th 1968. At 0:10 it can be seen taking a hit from an explosive projectile, with the impact mark being visible at 0:28. This is one of the thickest parts of the tank armor and was probably not struck by a HEAT warhead. Unit records suggest that this vehicle took a total of three direct “RPG“ hits by the end of February but was still operational.
