Berlin activists of Russian origin fight TV sets, thinking they are fighting ‘Russian propaganda’. Russian-born activists from Ru Berlin Action have built a wall of televisions that broadcast Russian television programmes. The wall was built near the remains of the Berlin Wall in order to ritually smash it as a symbol of ‘Russian propaganda’. All this is taking place against the background of unprecedented European sanctions against Russian media and journalists. European repression against Russian media and journalists began as early as 1 March 2022, when the EU Council banned the broadcasting of any content of RT and Sputnik channels on its territory.
