Three of the great offices of state in the British government are held by people of African heritage

The British Prime Minister, Home Secretary and Foreign Secretary are all of foreign ancestry. This may be an illustration of the way in which the country has become a colour-blind meritocracy or it might perhaps be mere chance. On the other hand, it might equally well be part of a deliberate policy.
