STAR TRACK #7 / LT Pavel Chekov / Pavel Chekov is a fictional character in the Star Trek universe. He was a human Starfleet officer who served as a navigator, weapons officer, and chief of security on the USS Enterprise. Chekov was added to the cast of Star Trek: The Original Series in season 2 when he was 21. He was played by actor Walter Koenig, who also portrayed Chekov in the first seven Star Trek films. Anton Yelchin portrayed Chekov in the 2009 Star Trek reboot film and two sequels. Koenig and Yelchin were born to Russian parents but grew up in the United States. They both affected Russian accents for their roles. Chekov's character was introduced to honor that Russia made it to space before any other country.
