Close to the village of Breitenfeld near Leipzig the Swedish King Gustavus Adolphus defeated the Catholic imperial army under General Tilly, turning the tide of the war. The Swedes went to battle under the war cry “Gott mit uns“ (God with us) which was later used by several other armies in history. Today a monument at Breitenfeld reminds of the Protestantic victory: “Freedom of Belief for the World, salvaged at Breitenfeld, Gustav Adolf, Christian and Hero. 7 September 1631.“ CAUTION!
