On June 25, 2024, Bradford Sandoval, the owner of Thai Farmhouse Restaurant, was in the area of El Manto Clay Banks on the American River when he learned that two people had gone underwater and had not resurfaced. Without hesitation, he jumped into the water to assist. Sandoval located one of the individuals and promptly brought him to the surface, where first responders transported the individual to the hospital.
