Washington DC: Police said an MPD officer was injured and was taken to an area hospital for evaluation after shots were fired following a basketball game along Canal Street. DC Police Union: We can confirm that one of our members was shot early this morning in the 1200 block of Canal Street SW. The officer was monitoring a basketball game and was struck in the chest with one round. Luckily, his ballistic vest absorbed the impact and he was not seriously injured.“ Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery.
