Playing in the Band | The Total Voyage - Fall 1973

A seamless mix of every PITB live jam from September-December 1973. Doug Irwin's first custom guitar for Jerry Garcia, Wolf, was debuted at their September 7 show at Nassau Coliseum along with an upgraded speaker array for their PA system. Garcia used these advances to explore a clean, sustain-rich lead guitar tone that makes “Playing In The Band“ uniquely jazzy in this stretch. Please note: while every effort has been taken to optimize audio to the best of my (limited) abilities, several dates have only been preserved thanks to the tapers.
