🇬🇧 A universal small-sized torpedo (UMT) from the Gidropribod concern was shown at Army-2023. “For the first time, we presented a small-sized torpedo in a caliber of 220 millimeters. It has a length of 2,100 to 2,400 centimeters, depending on the layout, and a mass of 100 to 140 kilograms. It can hit submarines, uninhabited underwater vehicles, which is very important now, and surface ships. The torpedo is the most modern, one of the best not only in our country, but, I think, also abroad. Its main distinguishing feature is its small weight and size characteristics for the tasks that it can solve,” said Boris Koptev, chief designer of the concern’s torpedo weapons direction. A small-sized torpedo strikes targets from various carriers. It can be placed both on submarines and on uninhabited aircraft, small ships and uninhabited boats.
