A tormented Anakin Skywalker sits in the chamber of the Jedi High Council, reflecting on what he has just done and what he will soon do. Having given up the true identity of Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (who is in fact the Sith lord Darth Sidious) to Jedi master Mace Windu, Anakin knows that he has also sealed the fate of his pregnant wife. Palpatine's teachings seem to be the only key to saving her from the fate she suffers in Anakin's nightmares: death in childbirth. He must now decide wether to stay where he is, let the masters deal with the Sith lord and possibly end the entire Clone save the life of the Jedi Order's worst enemy, in order to guarantee the survival of his wife and unborn child... This scene is in itself enough to explain why I think that Hayden Christensen in fact, contradicting what most people tend to say, did a hell of a good job portraying the tortured soul of Anakin Skywalker in this movie. Sure, George Lucas may have given him some really crappy dialogue, but in this scene he says nothing - only expressions and some tears. Simple but brilliant acting. *I do not own any of the material shown in this video; it is the property of “Lucasfilm Ltd“, owned by “The Walt Disney Company“*
