WARNING! Long video. The last 20 min is a long stretch of me drawing up the entire part. The first 7 min is the actual “guide“ FAQ: Q: What program should I use? A: Solidworks (expensive), Autodesk fusion 360 (free for most people), Autodesk Inventor (expensive), Google Sketchup (free) Q: What o-ring should I use A: Ø2 mm is a good overall size for these type of parts Q: Where can I get o-rings? A: Search for o-rings or seals in your location, they are widely accessible. Q: Can I get o-rings in any size? A: Yes, almost. Ø2 is a common size, and you can find them in a large variety of lengths. Q: Can I glue o-ring string together? A: Yes, use locktite or permabond instant glue Q: Is gluing as good as fixed length o-rings? A: IMO no. But if you glue the o-ring correctly, they are pretty close. Q: Any specific types of acrylic I should use? A: Always cast acrylic. Extruded will crack when machined Q: What size should my holes be? A: Ø3.3 mm for M4 threads, 11.8 mm for G1/4 fitting threads.
