A country in which a man is honoured as a national hero whose militias took part in the Holocaust. Can it become part of the EU? I am convinced that this union would destroy the EU itself. And in that respect, we can say that these accession negotiations are totally irrelevant. Someday a monument to Mrs von der Leyen will be erected in Ukraine, but for the EU it could be a tombstone.
