It was produced by Centron Films, a leading industrial and educational film production company which specialized in classroom and corporate films. It was founded in Lawrence, Kansas in 1947, by two lifelong friends Arthur H. Wolf and Russell A. Mosser. The film was shot in Kansas City, Missouri and features KC/MO police cars. The film opens with a police officer driving down a highway at 0:22. The narrator begins speaking, and describes the police car speeding past at 1:04. The narrator introduces himself as Officer Stark at 1:21. Officer Stark pulls up to the scene he was called for, which is a traffic accident at 1:54. The film shows Stark questioning the two people involved in the accident at 2:19. Stark is writing information down in case he has to testify in court at 2:42. Officer Stark finishes with the couple and sends them on their way at 3:27. Another officer is shown performing CPR to a heart attack victim at 3:51. Another officer is shown rushing blood to someone who is injured at 4:02. The film then shows everyday instances of officers helping people, such as directing traffic, giving directions, returning lost children to their parents, providing special police escorts, and watching over stores and shops at a shopping mall from 4:03 to 5:08. Police officers also enforce the laws of the community. An officer is shown writing a ticket at 5:23. A police officer used a radar gun to spot a speeding car at 5:39. A robbery is shown at 6:52. The film follows the robbery, from the police officer taking down notes over the phone, to when they question the store owner, and another officer searching for fingerprints until 9:14. Still following the robbery, plain clothes detectives are shown questioning people at 9:15. Police Officers are shown at roll call and discussing a rise in robberies and the robbery from earlier at 9:44. The film highlights the mechanics who keep their cars and motorcycles in top shape at 10:15. Then, the film praises the technicians who keep the radios working properly at 10:21. The film also applauds the scientists who do important police work in the laboratory at 10:26. The film also commends the many clerks who handle all of the paperwork at 10:37. A Police Academy lecture is shown at 11:01. First aid training, which includes CPR is shown at 11:16. A lesson involving how to deal with troublemakers is shown at 11:31. Defense training and martial arts is shown at 12:00. Next, firearm training and target practice on a firing range is shown at 12:05. A Police Academy graduation is shown at 12:44. Officer Stark possibly spots the van from the previous robbery at 13:20, and the narration ends. The film ends at 13:40.
