Kim Jong Un gives field guidance to preparatory committee for launching reconnaissance satellite

경애하는 김정은동지께서 정찰위성발사준비위원회사업을 현지에서 지도하시였다 The non-permanent preparatory committee for launching military reconnaissance satellite No. 1 involving scientists and technicians of the National Aerospace Development Administration of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, defence scientific research institutions and universities and scientific research organs at all levels is powerfully promoting its work at the final stage amid the vigorous struggle to strengthen the self-reliant defence capabilities for hitting the five core targets of increasing defence capabilities set forth by the Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea. The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the WPK and President of the State Affairs of the DPRK, gave field guidance to the work of the non-permanent preparatory committee for satellite launch on May 16. He learned in detail about the work of the preparatory committee and looked round military reconnaissance satellite No. 1 which is ready to be loaded after the check-up of its general assembly and final cosmic environment test. He highly estimated that the preparatory committee is fulfilling its mission and role with responsibility in the implementation of the important work for radically improving the military technological strength of the country. He said successful launch of the military reconnaissance satellite is an urgent demand in view of the prevailing security situation of the state and the course of correct implementation of the top-priority policy of our Party and the government of the DPRK on increasing the defence capabilities and, at the same time, a clear progress in the development of space military and science and technology of the country, and clarified specific strategic goals to be continuously attained in the field of space research. Emphasizing time and again the strategic nature of the possession of military reconnaissance satellites, he said our sovereignty and right to legitimate self-defence will be exercised more proudly and more offensively to thoroughly deter the ever-worsening desperate moves of the US imperialists and the south Korean puppet scoundrels against the DPRK and safeguard the state. Kim Jong Un approved the future action plans of the non-permanent preparatory committee for satellite launch.
