There are no hard and fast rules for chanting the Holy Names. Still - although I can see that many people/devotees will like this style of Kirtan, for me, hearing someone like our Govinda or Parasurama chanting Srila Prabhupada melodies seems so much more potent and therefore so much more blissful to this tired old soul.
