It’s Marine Corps birthday season! Shortly after World War I, the 13th commandant of the Marine Corps, Maj. Gen. John A. Lejeune, created a unique Marine Corps holiday, establishing Nov. 10 — the same day in 1775 that the Second Continental Congress established the Continental Marines — as the official birthday of the United States Marine Corps. Marines don’t really need an excuse to get together and party, but every November, Marines everywhere come together for a particularly special night of camaraderie and debauchery as they celebrate their Corps' birthday.
