I will also be uploading new content every Thursday as well! “The Rising of the Moon“ is an Irish ballad recounting a battle between the United Irishmen, led by Theobald Wolfe Tone and the British Army during the Irish Rebellion of 1798. It was first published in 1866 by John Keegan Casey, and since then it has been covered by many of the greats including The Dubliners, The High Kings, The Clancy Brothers, Tommy Makem, and many more.
