I had an opportunity to see this wonderful early Sargent painting in person recently and felt inspired to make a study of it. It was interesting to see how much more subtle the skin tones are compared with the reproductions I've seen in books and online. This study took me about eight hours over a few days. Materials: 9 x 12“ Canson oil paper. Titanium white, Yellow ochre Cadmium yellow light, Cadmium red light, Alizarin crimson, Burnt Sienna, Raw umber, Ivory black, Cobalt blue. Medium was mostly linseed oil sometimes Liquin. If you enjoyed this video and want to support my channel please like and or subscribe. Thank you for watching!
